Bucket Adapter Kits

Bucket Adapter Kits
Simple to use and easy to clean, Sawyer Bucket Adapter Kits are the best-in-class for bacteria removal and life change. Using technology taken from kidney dialysis, Sawyer water filters use Hollow Fiber Membranes. Our filters are comprised of tiny āUā shaped micro tubes that allow water to enter into their core through tiny micro pores. The PointOne Filter pores are so small (0.1 micron absolute) that no bacteria, protozoa, or cysts like E.Coli, Cholera and Typhoid can get through.
At 7 log (99.99999%) the filter attains the highest level of filtration available today and yet it has a very high flow rate due to the large amount of tubes. Each filter is certified for ABSOLUTE microns. That means there will be no pore size larger than 0.1 microns in the biological filter Simply put, it is impossible for bacteria to pass through the 0.1 micron filter.
Sawyer made it as simple as it gets. No more digging wells if there is a water source, no constructing sand filters and no more purification chemicals. Families are able to construct and adapt their filter in literally minutes to locally found containers.
The kits are available in multiple variations depending on the needs of the charity or organization to make sure that you have everything you need to attach the filter to any plastic bucket or container. The buckets are not included in these kits because buckets are widely available internationally so by shipping everything you need in a pouch, shipping costs are dramatically reduced. If you do not have access to buckets, please see our Collapsible Bladder Kits.
Lifespan
If properly maintained, a Sawyer water filter can last 10+ years. We have some filters that were installed in Fiji and Haiti in 2008 that are still in use to this day. Sawyer hollow fibers are ~75% stronger than the fibers used by other water filtration companies which is why our filters can outperform and outlast the competition. The filters can be routinely backwashed with clean water to flush out the pathogen and particulate trapped within the filter fibers. A successful backwash can restore up to 98.5% of the filter’s flow rate.
Performance
At sea level with a standard length hose, a Sawyer filter installed on a bucket can filter 300 gallons per day / 1,000 liters per day. Using a larger water container or a longer hose, you can generate even more head pressure and filter higher volumes of water. With a 200+ liter drum and a longer hose, you can filter over 2,000 liters per day. Variations Include: Hose Length, Filter Type, With or Without Drill Bit
Cost
No matter the specific setup variation you choose, a Sawyer water filter will produce thousands of liters for pennies on the dollar. In a recent study conducted in Liberia, families were able to reduce diarrhea by 95% and also recover ~12.5% of their monthly income by simply using a Sawyer filter. Children and families were able retain more nutrients, decrease medical costs, decrease water purchases, and miss less days of school and work.
Filtration Rates
Sawyer 0.1 micron absolute water filters will remove 99.99999% of bacteria and 99.9999% of protozoa and cysts. This model will not remove viruses but we do offer a model that does. Viruses are seldom in water sources but for people with especially sensitive immune systems or for those needing purified water for medical use, please view our 0.02 micron absolute purifier model here: ____
Light Weight
The individual filters weigh less than 3 ounces. Our bucket adapter systems with all of the components weight ~8 ounces (0.5 lbs). This means you can fit 75-100 Sawyer bucket filtration systems in a standard size suitcase or duffle bag. With an average family size of 4, a single suitcase of filters can provide long-lasting clean water to 4,000 people!
